“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” (Luke 2:20)
When the shepherds had seen the Child, they made known everywhere what they had been told about Him.
The shepherds became messengers of the glad news of the birth of the Lord Jesus. Everyone should know that the Savior was born.
All who heard it marveled at what was said to them by the shepherds. They thought: Strange people, those shepherds! And what a wonderful story, could it be true?
The people marveled, but the news did not affect their lives. For nowhere do we read that any of them went to see the Child Jesus for themselves.
Even today there are people who think the glad news is just a miraculous story. They are satisfied with the here and now. In their hearts there is no place for the Lord Jesus.
The shepherds did not care about the reaction of the people.
Their hearts were full of joy when they returned to the flock.
They glorified and praised God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told to them.
Like the shepherds, do you have a desire to share the glad news?
