More than Solomon: Jesus showers us with gifts

Last updated on May 6, 2025

“And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, whatever she asked besides what was given her by the bounty of King Solomon.” (1 Kings 10:13)

Not only was Solomon’s wisdom extraordinary, but so was his wealth.. He possessed an enormous amount of gold, silver, spices, precious stones… When Solomon had visitors, they often brought gifts. In return, Solomon generously shared his wealth. Those who visited him did not go home empty-handed.
The Lord Jesus described Himself as “more than Solomon.” This is true not only ofHis wisdom, It is also true of the riches He wants to share with us. Everyone who believes in Jesus becomes His joint heir. Paul writes about this in Philippians 4:19, “My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” The apostle Peter points us to “an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”
Jesus’ wealth is infinite and He gladly shares it. He encourages us: “Ask, and it will be given to you” (Matthew 7:7). He has “chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which He has promised to those who love Him”
(James 2:5)
What do you think a person needs to be truly rich? What do you need, and where can you find it?
