“And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17)
Where is your heart full of? Peter was full of the Holy Spirit, and began to explain to the assembled crowd what they had seen and heard. Peter quoted what Joel, one of Israel’s prophets, had spoken on behalf of God centuries before. (Joel 2:28-32; Acts 2:16-18). From an early age, children in Israel were introduced to the words of God. And now Peter told them that God, on this day, was fulfilling Joel’s promise about the coming of the Spirit. In the life of every believer in Jesus, from now on the Holy Spirit would be present. And because of this, every believer would remain connected to Jesus. Men, women, youth, children. God thus took another step in His plan of redemption. He looks at this world with love, and has been working for centuries to restore relationship with Him in His time and His way. Not everything Peter quoted from Joel was already fulfilled that day. From now on, believers would begin to see more and more of how God is moving forward. God will complete His plan for heaven and earth, and His work in you.

Question: How would you like to be filled (even more) with the Holy Spirit? Bring it in prayer to Him, personally and/or with others.
