The Child Jesus grows up

“And the Child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon Him.” (Luke 2:40)

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. But after His parents, Joseph and Mary, accomplished all that had to be done according to the Lord’s law, they returned to their town of Nazareth. There Jesus grew up.

When we delve into the life of Jesus, we do not read about the development He went through from baby to teenager. However, we do read something important about His childhood. Jesus grew up as a wise boy of steadfast character. By the grace of God, He was able to choose good over evil.
He was filled with wisdom. In Luke 2:47 it says, “All who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers. ” We also read in this story that He was obedient to His parents. Above all, He rejoiced to obey God, His Father in heaven.

As a child, Jesus was aware that He was not only part of the family of Joseph and Mary, but that He had come to do the will of His heavenly Father.

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)
