God is almighty

“He has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.” (Romans 9:18)

God is almighty, even over what we believe, think, and feel.

It is a popular thought that God’s almightiness is limited by man’s free will. This is expressed in all kinds of half-true assumptions. For example: God offers forgiveness through Jesus (true), and then looks on who is responding to the invitation (not true).

If you have a high cap on the free will of man, then Romans 9 is a good medicine. God’s omnipotence also extends to what we believe, think and feel. If He did not care about us, we would have never believed.

Regeneration is a work of God in our hearts through the proclamation of the Gospel. It is not a decision that we make.

What is the good news of this That God saves. He does everything that needs to be done. From God’s eternal plan through Jesus’ death to our regeneration and eternal glory: it is a long chain with all links that are inextricably linked together.

How do you experience that God is almighty in your daily life?
