“Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:10)
God is almighty. “Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps” (Psalm 135:6). He doesn’t ever need any help. And yet, God often involves humans in the execution of his plans.
Today we read how He appoints Moses as Israel’s leader who will lead the people out of Egypt. Ultimately, it is God Himself who rescues the Israelites by his great power. But He does so by sending Moses to Pharaoh.
The Bible offers many more examples. God uses prophets to speak his words to people. He uses kings to execute
righteousness and justice. He calls the apostles to be his witnesses to the end of the earth. He calls all of us to spread the Good News that whoever believes in Jesus Christ, will receive forgiveness of sins.
We don’t always understand why God does things like this. It seems much more efficient to solve problems supernaturally, in a split second. But we trust that God’s ways are the best.
