The love of God

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

During the conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus proceeds step by step to the heart of the gospel. He tells him; “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life”. Then He speaks of the love of the Father, Who sent His beloved Son into this world and why He did so. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but because the world would be saved through Him.

Then Jesus declares to Nicodemus that He is the light of the world, but men preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. “But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Has the light also risen in your spiritual darkness?
