A hopeful future

“ In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2)

As Jesus had His last supper with His disciples, He prepared them further for his parting.

He knew what was in the hearts of His disciples and comforted them with these words:
“Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”

Then Jesus spoke of their future home.

He said; “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

There is a future full of hope for God’s children. A place has been prepared for them with their Father in heaven.

Their loss of Jesus is only temporary; they will see Him again. For He lives and they also will live (see John 14:19).

In the meantime, He will give them another Comforter and Helper. That is the Holy Spirit, who remains with them for all eternity.

Are you also assured of a dwelling place in the house of God?
