Not expecting Jesus?

“That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’” (John 21:7)

After the disciples had fished all night in vain on the Sea of Tiberias, they sailed back to the shore. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not know that it was Him.

Jesus asked them, “Children, do you have any fish?”
They answered Him, “No.” Their answer to this kind question was short.

Jesus told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” And indeed, when they cast out the net, they were not able to haul it back in, because of the quantity of fish.

At that moment, John noticed who this unknown man was. He recognized Jesus and said to Peter: “It is the Lord!” Upon hearing this, Peter immediately put on his outer garment (for he was stripped for work), and threw himself into the sea.
Impetuous Peter! He longed for Jesus with all his heart and could not wait any longer.

The other disciples followed him in the boat, dragging the net full of fish.

Again, a miraculous catch of fish!

What encouragement to God’s children that Jesus provides even when they did not expect Him.
