“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life.’” (John 14:6)
After Jesus comforted His disciples, He reassured them:. “You know the way to where I am going,” Jesus said.
But Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, said to Him: “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
Jesus replied: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
Philip, another disciple, said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
Jesus said, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.”
Jesus knows of the doubt that is present in the hearts of His disciples. Therefore, He points them to the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in His Name, Who will teach them all things and bring to their remembrance all that He has spoken to them.
