“There is none who does good, not even one” (Psalm 14:3)
Children need instruction. They are not like little fish who instinctively know all they need to know when they hatch, but need to be raised, corrected and educated. The Bible teaches us that the same is true of adults. Of ourselves, “there is none who does good, not even one”.
This ongoing need for instruction is not due to natural immaturity. The first humans knew what was good and right and true. But the human mind has been corrupted by sin, and therefore our “foolish hearts were darkened” (Romans 1:21).
We now lack a reliable moral compass to distinguish what is good and what is not. We lack a proper understanding of the Lord and of ourselves. This leads to wrong assumptions, stupid choices and massive failures.
God wants to instruct and teach us. However, many people don’t agree with his diagnosis. They consider themselves fully able to make wise decisions and are not inclined to accept instruction from God.
Are you ready to receive God’s instructions for your life?
