The Bible takes away your doubts about God’s future

“But according to His promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:13)

The people Peter is writing to are confused: Why has Jesus not yet returned? Peter assures them that the delay is not because God is slow in fulfilling His promise. God’s perspective on time is different from ours. We cannot predict when He will come. Therefore, we should not be discouraged. It is enough to know that the Lord is coming. That knowledge gives us the strength to persevere.

When Jesus returns, it will be sudden and unexpected. His coming will change everything. God will make all things new. Peter encourages his readers to eagerly anticipate this moment. In that new world, true justice will reign, and nothing will stand in opposition to God’s will.

In our time, many are being misled. Countless ideas and theories are circulating about what happiness, freedom, and justice truly are. But as Christians, we must hold firmly to God’s Word. We must study the gospel of Jesus Christ and treasure it in our hearts. It is the only thing that can protect us from the misleading stories and ideologies that surround us.

If you allow the Spirit to work in you, He will open your eyes to God’s future, which you can share in through faith. What a beautiful and hopeful perspective that is!
